The re­nam­ing of the for­mer Cooper Power Tools GmbH & Co. OHG West­hausen Plant into Apex Tool Group GmbH & Co. OHG is now com­pleted legally and for­mally. Since June 16th 2011 we have been reg­is­tered under the name Apex Tool Group GmbH & Co. OHG. See all News and Press Re­leases

Joint Ven­ture since July 1st, 2010
Cooper In­dus­tries and Dana­her In­dus­tries com­bined their Tool group busi­ness in a new com­pany Apex Tool Group LLC.

2008
Mar­ket in­tro­duc­tion of the in­no­v­a­tive DGD In­tel­li­gent Spin­dle with servo mod­ule at the tool.

2007
Mar­ket in­tro­duc­tion of the first in­tel­li­gent cord­less bat­tery tools for safety crit­i­cal ap­pli­ca­tions.

1998
To mea­sure up its world­wide ac­tiv­i­ties, Deutsche Gard­ner-Den­ver GmbH & Co changes its com­pany name to Cooper Power Tools GmbH & Co. OHG..

Mar­ket in­tro­duc­tion  of the first DGD elec­tric spin­dles with freely pro­gram­ma­ble tight­en­ing con­trollers.

1982
Mar­ket in­tro­duc­tion of DGD Gar­do­trans trans­port sys­tem for as­sem­bly and pro­duc­tion lines.


1979
Cooper In­dus­tries ac­quires Gard­ner-Den­ver and  Deutsche Gard­ner-Den­ver GmbH in West­hausen
Cooper Industries acquiert Gardner-Denver et Deutsche Gardner-Denver GmbH à Westhausen.


1973
DGD buys the whole plant ground with all halls

1960-1972
DGD en­larged, the per­son­nel grows up to 450 peo­ple.

1959
The US com­pany Gard­ner-Den­ver takes over the halls and builds up a plant for de­vel­op­ing and man­u­fac­tur­ing in­dus­trial pneu­matic tools.
Foun­da­tion of the com­pany DGD (Deutsche Gard­ner-Den­ver)

1946
The ma­chines in the Col­lis plant are being dis­man­tled and the halls un­masked 
 

April 1945
US troops oc­cu­pies the Col­lis plants 

1940-1941
The pro­duc­tion of the car­tridges grows up to a quan­tity of 350000 per month, the per­son­nel grows up to 1800 peo­ple.

1936
The man­u­fac­tur­ing of car­tridges starts with ap­prox. 1200 em­ploy­ees in the plant.

1934-1935
An arms fac­tory was planned in the min­istry of the army in Berlin and built in a wooded dell close to West­hausen-Re­ichen­bach, named the Col­lis-Met­all-Werke CMW.


1826
With 180 years of his­tory, Cooper In­dus­tries Inc. is one of the five old­est com­pa­nies in the USA.
